Job Description
The Telephony Engineer will work in the company’s fast growing Managed Services area. We provide Managed Equipment to customers throughout the US and Canada and the Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the equipment providing telephony services to end users. Among the responsibilities will be to fully configure all equipment, join all activation calls for such equipment and services, and provide second level support to our repair department. The candidate must be highly comfortable with all aspects of digital and analog telephony services.
Primary Job Responsibilities will include:
• Configure and test VoIP phones (Polycom, Yealink, Cisco, Grandstream).
• Configure and test “POTS in a box” devices which includes configuring Peplink routers.
• Configure and test Session Border Controllers for Hosted PBX setups.
• Provide support to end users regarding VoIP phone issues/alarm lines/faxing.
• Add monitored devices and phone lines to our PRTG monitoring platform.
• Take part in all managed equipment activation calls with carriers and customers to ensure the process is smooth and worry free.
• Provide second level support to the repair department regarding all aspects of managed telephony equipment (VoIP phones, ATAs, POTS in a box) in a 24x7 environment.

Skills and Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in engineering and configuring solutions that implement VOIP and analog telephony services (copper ) - installing, servicing, and understanding how they work
- Experience working with Pots in a Box
Proficient hands on experience and understanding of fundamental telephony and networking concepts such as: PRI, BRI, DTMF, SIP Trunk, HPBX, UDP, TCP, 4G/5G, POTS, 66 Block wiring, butt set, RJ45, RJ11, ISDN, T1 Circuits, T1 Framing, T1 line coding, T1 CAS Signaling. SIP Signaling experience
Wireshark packet capture experience
Able to configure Polycom, Yealink, Cisco, and Grand stream IP Phones and ATAS
