    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a SQL Server DBA to support a VA State Agency and assume core database administration responsibilities for its internal SQL Server environment. This person will work closely with internal development teams, support application teams, and manage SQL Server clustering, patching, troubleshooting, and security reporting. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on admin who can diagnose issues independently and keep mission‑critical systems running smoothly. The pay rate for this role is 55-65 an hour, based on the candidate's years of experience.

    Day to Day

    • Administer, maintain, install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server environments.

    • Support developers with SQL needs, queries, and script execution.

    • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot SQL and connectivity issues.

    • Oversee SQL Server Agent jobs and automation using SSMS/Visual Studio tools.

    • Install, manage, and patch mid‑tier components.

    • Serve as primary escalation point for SQL-related issues.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 4–7 years of SQL Server DBA experience

    • Strong experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, administration, and patching.

    • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting SQL Server performance and application connectivity.

    • Experience with clustering (AoAG)
