Summary About the Position: This position is located in Falls Church, Virginia. Responsibilities Conduct complex, high priority, and sensitive inquiries and investigations into allegations of Military Whistleblower Reprisal as directed by the Director, DHA, Deputy Director DHA or the DHA Inspector General. Prepare and review written administrative investigation reports and related correspondence. Exercise ingenuity in interpreting and revising existing regulations, policies, statues, and directives relevant to IG mission and functions. Brief leadership on investigative findings and investigative data in support of management decisions. Provide case management of complaints made to the DHA OIG. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Conducting investigations regarding allegations of military Whistleblower Protection Act violations; collecting evidence to determine violation of rule, law or regulation; and developing investigative reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-012). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
