Work Schedule

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine Supply Chain provides strategic sourcing and contracting services to support clinical, research, and administrative operations across UW Medicine. Our team ensures compliance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with institutional goals while delivering exceptional customer service.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Lead IT contracting and strategic sourcing activities, including complex agreements for software, hardware, and cloud services.
Conduct financial and risk analysis to support data-driven procurement decisions.
Develop long-term sourcing strategies and maintain expertise in emerging IT market trends.
Build strong partnerships with departments and suppliers to maximize contract benefits and ensure compliance.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage & Execute Contracts
+ Lead all aspects of IT contracting, including solicitation, negotiation, and administration of complex agreements for software, hardware, and cloud services, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, cybersecurity standards, and risk management requirements.
Analyze Data
+ Perform financial and risk analysis using Supply Chain tools to support data-driven procurement decisions and maintain IT project savings and risk reduction tracking.
Develop and Maintain Commodity Expertise
+ Research and monitor emerging IT market trends to maintain expertise in assigned commodity areas and inform sourcing strategies.
Develop and Maintain Positive Department Support Relationships
+ Build strong partnerships with departments and suppliers to promote utilization of IT contracts, resolve performance issues, and maximize contract benefits.
Support Departmental Initiatives
+ Participate in process improvement projects, contribute to long-term planning, and assist with operational activities such as reporting and contract maintenance.
System Proficiency
+ Demonstrate proficiency in procurement systems and provide guidance to customers and suppliers for efficient system use.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in healthcare IT, supply chain management, or another quantitative field.
+ Three (3) years of experience in procurement and contracting activities supporting a healthcare organization, preferably in the public sector or a research/teaching setting.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and items commonly used in a hospital setting.
+ Demonstrated experience developing, negotiating, and administering major IT and technology-related contracts.
+ Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, email, and web-based tools.
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements, except where legally required.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$78,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$104,568.00 annual
