    Job Description:

    + Determines appropriate surgical equipment and supplies based on physician’s preference and sets up the procedure room with the correct instrumentation and supplies.

    + Provides visualization for operative sites by applying appropriate methods, including tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suction, and irrigation.

    + Positions patients appropriately for best exposure as ordered by the physician, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, and prioritizes patient comfort and safety.

    + Assists with body plane closures, wound dressing applications, and securing drainage systems.

    + Achieves temporary and permanent hemostasis by applying appropriate techniques.

    Technical/Vocational School (Required)ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - EV Accredited Issuing Body

    Pay Range:

    $27.67 - $51.47
