### Job Duties
JOB GOALS:
To provide students with a nutritional food service
program that will enhance their learning and behavior. Food Service support staff assumes responsibility for serving attractive, quality foods in an
atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, cooperation, and friendliness and in a
manner that maintains food safety and sanitation requirements.
Food Preparation Duties:
Completes assigned food preparation in designed work areas.
Operates food service equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Maintains a clean and
prepared, used, leftover, discarded, and records the information on the appropriate forms
Follows standards of food safety in preparing and storing foods.
Checks temperatures and dates new items received and rotates existing stock to insure that it is used first.
Assists in conducting food, supply, and equipment inventories
Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment
• Meal Service Duties:
Arranges and organizes assigned service area per approved diagrams and procedures
Serves correct portions of food in specified dishes using standardized portion utensils
Monitors self-service areas and replenishes food and supplies as required
Practices good customer relations behaviors (speaking, smiling, and being considerate and responsive to both students, staff and volunteers)
Handles minor student discipline issues with the team and within the school process
Reports larger student discipline problems to the appropriate school staff member
Cleans and sanitizes assigned service areas before, during, and after meal service
Documents food production reports and temperature logs
• Point of Sale Duties:
Operates point of sale cash register or computer terminal per standardized procedures
Completes point of sale daily reports at end of meal service
Possible additional responsibilities:
Communication with parents concerning menu and account information
Interacts with parent volunteers in a courteous and professional manner
Wellness Committee responsibilities
Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Coordinator or Administration
### Minimum Education Required
-· Must possess a high school
degree or equivalent (GED)
- Must possess the local county’s
Health Department Safety and Sanitation training, and may be required to posses Food Management
Certificate
### Minimum Experience Required
Open to different experience levels.
