**Location:** Various outpatient centers within Penn Medicine Lancaster Health
**Schedule:** Part time (20 hours per week), Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm with flexible shifts and hours, limited weekends, no holidays, no on-call. Initial 3-month training with the option to work up to 40 hours per week at the Suburban Outpatient Pavilion.
Position Summary:
To perform DXA Scans and report to physician on patient results.
Essential Functions:
+ Performs dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) studies according to established International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) procedures.
+ Accurately document patient information. Complete related forms required for the study.
+ Distribute scans for physician to review.
+ Order DXA supplies as needed.
+ Computer skills-utilization of EPIC, DXA specific software, and required network software.
+ Compliance with OSHA and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.
+ Maintain equipment as necessary, including proficiency and quality control test.
+ Performs Quality Assurance (QA) as required.
+ Train other employees to perform DXA and Sahara studies.
Required Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Valid ISCD or ARRT Bone Densitometry certification required within 12 months if ARRT-eligible at hire, or within 18 months if not ARRT-eligible at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Other Degree in an Allied Health field (such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Nurse (RN), Nuclear Medical Technologist (NMT).
+ One year of patient care experience or DXA experience
+ Documented minimum of 12 hours of continuing medical education (CME) Category I or Category A continuing education (CE) credits in bone densitometry, osteoporosis or metabolic bone disease
+ CPR certification.
