Plant Engineering Operations Lead – Indianola, PA
PURPOSE
The Plant Engineering Operations Lead will fill the role of Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach for Plant Engineering function for the Pittsburgh Supply Center (Indianola, O’Hara, and Saxonburg Plants). This person will operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for all department deliverables and will be responsible for the management of Plant Engineering technical support for the manufacturing environment and associated equipment.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Accountable for prioritizing, planning, and supervising the execution of the Plant Engineering support activities for the Pittsburgh Supply Center and associated equipment to meet the objectives agreed with the Pittsburgh EMEX Lead;
+ Assists Manufacturing in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to health and safety, quality, performance, equipment operability and capacity;
+ Responsible for ensuring effective troubleshooting of production assets and process problems;
+ Accountable for engineering input into maintenance plans related to inspection, repairs, and larger/complex turn-around of plant assets;
+ Accountable for prioritizing, resourcing, and ensuring execution of Plant Engineering projects including small LtO capital investments;
+ Participates in and ensures subject matter expertise is applied to larger/major projects including ensuring appropriate Plant Engineering resource availability;
+ Drives safety and ergonomic improvements;
+ Assures compliance with technical rules and regulations, as well as with company policies, statutes and operational excellence practices;
+ Accountable for the creation and maintenance of plant technical documentation including manufacturing operational procedures;
+ Participates in long term plant production asset planning and defining priority and scope of plant investment activities and assures qualified support to execute those investments;
+ Responsible for an effective Engineering Operations technical team, empowering its members and fostering cooperation throughout the Site;
+ Responsible for people development within the Plant Engineering Operation sub-cluster;
+ Identifies and manages the necessary resources and suitable technology to manufacture products in accordance with safety, regulatory and business goals;
+ Integrates innovation and continuous improvement programs into Plant Engineering Operations and drives opportunities for overall EMEX cost reductions.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field;
+ 15 or more years combined successful experience in engineering and/or manufacturing;
+ Demonstrated ability to leverage diverse engineering knowledge to lead and influence cross-functions and managers, as well as to inform executive managers;
+ Demonstrated leadership skills including strong communication, influencing, collaboration, and relationship building;
+ Experience managing budgets and planning as well as experience overseeing multiple outsourced/contract labor vendors;
+ Demonstrated strategic planning skills as well as ability to direct, organize, analyze, plan and control all activities in functional areas;
+ Demonstrated skill in both analysis of complex problems and synthesis of solutions;
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams through complex problems;
+ Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to steer and motivate a very diverse team
+ Demonstrated knowledge of engineering tools and skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ MS in Engineering or MBA;
+ Knowledge in Bayer technical practices and standards;
+ Knowledge of medical device process technology as well as understanding of medical device regulations;
+ Knowledge of supporting processes associated with the operations and maintenance of a plant.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 150,400.00 to $225,600.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
