We are seeking an experienced freelance SEO content editor and CMS specialist to support a high-priority website optimization initiative focused on our industry-specific webpages. These pages serve audiences across key AAA practice areas, including (but not limited to):

+ Employment
+ Mediation (https://www.adr.org/mediation/)
This role will focus on refining and expanding industry-specific webpages to better align with targeted SEO keywords while maintaining accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who can edit and create content, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and implement updates directly in a CMS environment.
The successful applicant will have a hybrid work arrangement and must reside within a 125-mile radius of our NYHQ located in the Financial District. This is a nonexempt role with a salary range between $50 - $75/hour. This project is expected to last 4 months, working between 20 - 30 hours per week.
PROJECT SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
SEO Content Editing & Optimization
+ Copyedit existing industry and related webpages to incorporate prioritized SEO keywords naturally and effectively
+ Ensure content remains clear, accurate, audience-appropriate, and aligned with AAA’s brand voice
+ Optimize headings, subheads, body copy, and on-page structure for SEO best practices
FAQ Development
+ Draft written responses for pre-identified FAQ questions for each webpage
+ Integrate targeted keywords into FAQ answers in a way that supports search visibility and user clarity
+ Ensure FAQs are accurate, concise, and consistent with AAA programs and services
Stakeholder Collaboration & Review
+ Work closely with Vice Presidents and subject-matter leads for each industry to refine content
+ Coordinate with the legal team to support content review and approval processes
+ Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining timelines and SEO integrity
CMS Implementation
+ Publish updated and new content directly to the AAA website using Umbraco CMS
+ Format pages correctly, including FAQs, headers, internal links, and page components
+ Ensure content is implemented cleanly and consistently across pages
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
+ Proven experience in SEO-focused content editing and optimization, preferably for professional services, legal, or B2B organizations
+ Strong writing and copyediting skills with the ability to balance SEO requirements and editorial quality
+ Experience creating or expanding FAQ content for SEO and usability
+ Comfort collaborating with senior leadership and legal reviewers
+ Hands-on experience with CMS platforms; Umbraco experience preferred
+ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple pages and reviews simultaneously
Nice to Have
+ Familiarity with legal, ADR, or regulated-industry content
+ Understanding of keyword strategy, search intent, and on-page SEO fundamentals
+ Experience working within established brand and governance frameworks
