    Our NY1 Expansion Facilities Construction team seeks an expert Ultra Pure Water Engineer for design, construction, commissioning, and operations at our new manufacturing facility in Clay, New York.

     

    The Facilities Ultra Pure Water Engineer collaborates with the engineering team to analyze operational efficiency, identify cost-effective improvements, and provide design input. This position requires strong knowledge of semiconductor ultra-pure water systems, wastewater treatment, water reclamation, and zero-liquid discharge plants.

     

    This position works directly with operations teams and technicians to supervise system parameters via SPC/IOT and SCADA. The engineer coordinates with system owners, maintenance crews, and construction trades, requiring strong interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include developing operations and maintenance documentation with vendors, collaborating on engineering projects, and providing design support for system modifications, upgrades, and new equipment installations.

    What’s Encouraged Daily:

    Engineering support and mentorship of** the **build, construction, and commissioning of ultrapure water systems, including:

    + Review vendor design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

    + Review equipment configuration and distribution routing for functionality, egress, maintenance requirements, constructability, and P&ID alignment

    + Validate engineering calculations

    + Review and approve equipment and component submittals with O&M staff

    + ion of construction RFI responses

    + Review and approve shop drawings and construction models

    + Field engineering QA during construction

    + Enter system information into the software for managing resource needs

    Safety & Quality:

    **Complete** required safety training and conduct all work according to Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies

    + Apply and review job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for all work

    + Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, including PPE, CoHE (lockout/tagout), and chemical safety

    + Follow up on safety and quality issues immediately and work towards resolution with collaborators

    + Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce fab impacts, improve efficiency, and identify cost savings

    + Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer and company guidelines to meet safety and quality expectations

    + Ensure area-specific procedures and documents exist and submit updates as needed

    + Understand and implement hazardous energy isolation and lockout/tagout procedures

    Communication & Collaboration:

    + Ensures appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing team members

    + Partner with key collaborators to develop solutions that continuously improve critical metrics

    + Collaborate with global teams to resolve equipment and process issues and improve system stability

    + Communicate equipment changes and follow change control business rules

    + Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation

    + Identifies issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves.

    + Coordinate with team members and leaders on issues and changes, and provide regular status updates

    Project Management/Planning:

    **Apply** systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize, and lead projects

    + Works closely with the Design and Projects teams to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule, and budget

    + Collaborate with partners on project design and coordination

    + Provides support for the installation or commissioning of new facilities infrastructure, including cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval

    + Review design packages to ensure specifications are met, and cost reduction opportunities are identified

    + Support equipment startup and commissioning

    + Coordinates and leads cost reduction projects

    + Relevant Bachelor’s degree or experience; Chemical, Environmental engineering, Chemistry, or related field of study

    + Three or more years of ultra-pure water or related experience

    + Excellent multitasking, time management, organization, and prioritization skills

    + Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and project teams efficiently

    + Ability to follow sophisticated procedures and work with minimal supervision

    + Ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement plans to improve efficiency

    + Ability to communicate and present technical information to diverse audiences

    What Sets You Apart

    + Master’s degree in engineering and/or discipline-specific Professional Engineer certification, or equivalent experience

    + Three or more years of facilities or plant operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing

    The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

    $107,000.00 - $227,000.00 a year

     

    Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.

     

    Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
