In this position...
You will work on new Ford vehicle programs for the Durability Attribute from concept to production. You will have opportunities to work on design load target development, conduct simulations for road load cascades, manage durability tests, and conduct measurements.
We are looking for curious engineers who want to explore new processes and tools and be highly engaged in solving durability issues. You will track and report overall program durability health/readiness from concept to launch and beyond. Using the health data, you will be responsible for ensuring milestone reporting requirement are met, organize cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution and hold teams accountable to deliver against the requirements.

What you'll do...
+ Act as single point of contact for Program Durability
+ Pre-Durability Planning - Lessons learned, spare parts, competitive benchmarking
+ Cascade durability targets, develop road load support plans, and help develop road load cascades for vehicle systems through use of simulation tools.
+ Develop/ maintain Vehicle Level Durability Verification Plan
+ Interface w/ proving grounds and labs for tracking, raising, and resolving issues.
+ Champion Durability Milestone assessments (Program Design Reviews, and Milestone)
+ Develop and maintain a program durability health chart.
+ Provide durability program readiness for OK to buy Matrix.
+ Champion Program durability issue resolution/closure.As needed, directly support durability issue resolution or verification with detailed loads analysis, simulations, or road load measurement support to be an active part of the root cause and/or verification team.
+ Interface with various functional and test teams to ensure test (method) aligns with vehicle level requirements, and issues are captured, raised, and resolved.
+ Lead regular Director level Durability risk assessments.
+ Ensure all teams deliver according to product development timing.
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
+ • 5+ years road loads, durability CAE, durability attribute, or vehicle attribute experience
Even better, you may have...
+ Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ Experience with material strength and fatigue
+ Experience with MSC ADAMS in loads simulation, Familiarity with NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or OPTISTRUCT
+ Experience in road load data collection, use of road load data, and/or interpreting tested data
+ Familiarity with architectural tools (C123, CSE, etc)
+ Programming Skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc.)
+ Experience using SimCenter (LMS) TestLab, nCode and Reliasoft
+ Possess a growth mindset and desire to work in fast-paced and highly technical environment
+ Highly motivated and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail
+ Strong problem-solving skills coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills

This position is a range of salary grades Grade 7-8.
