Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, between the hours of 7:45am - 5:00pm

This position will float throughout the departments in this facility.

_What Medical Assistants contribute to Cardinal Health_

Medical Assistant provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice. The Medical Assistant will perform both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical setting while maintaining professionalism, patient confidentiality, and teamwork.

Medical Assistants are responsible for medical services that directly or indirectly provide healthcare to patients.

_Qualifications_

+ 0-2 years of experience, preferred

+ High school diploma GED or equivalent required

+ Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

+ Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred

+ Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills

+ Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

_What is expected of you and others at this level_

+ Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks

+ Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints

+ Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures

+ Perform clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, and medication reconciliation (as applicable)

+ Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)

+ Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and assist with referrals and authorizations

+ Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards are followed

+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies

+ Collaborate with the healthcare team to support efficient patient flow

+ Works on basic and routine assignments

+ Selects correct processes from prescribed rules or guidelines

+ Work is closely managed and follows detailed instructions

+ Seeks regular guidance and advice from supervisor

Anticipated hourly range: $17.80 per hour - $27.83 per hour
