What We Offer
The Supervisor’s primary focus is to oversee the warehousing and distribution functions within the Novant Health Logistics Center to ensure accurate receipt and shipment of medical supplies to our supporting facilities. The Supervisor will schedule activities with the Inbound Manager and Outbound Manager to ensure orders are received, put away, picked, and consolidated efficiently and shipped to the facility accurately. In addition, the Supervisor will communicate with Supply Chain Leadership and internal customers on unique schedules and/or special requests from Supply Chain Operations. The Supervisor’s mission is to exceed customer expectations with creative solutions to identified quality issues. The Supervisor must be flexible and willing to work at various times; potentially crossing established shifts in order to assist with the quality, inbound and order fulfillment programs, as necessary.
What You'll Do
• Communicate with NLC Leadership and Supply Chain Operations to maximize overall performance • Communicate with 3rd Party Logistics Outbound Transit to ensure all schedules are met in a timely manner • Demonstrate good listening skills, solicit feedback from team members, and provide motivation and a positive attitude to team members • Communicate with Inbound Manager to ensure all cross dock, IT Hardware, and repair part orders are properly staged and placed on the appropriate truck • Communicate with Outbound Manager to ensure production and quality objectives are met and exceeded • Monitor, analyze, and provide training to employees regarding quality and productivity measures. • Perform daily observations on each employee to identify opportunities to improve fixed and variable processes and maximize net productivity. • Create, initiate and implement plans to motivate the team to achieve daily goals. • Supervise a team of materials handlers including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, rewarding and disciplining, and termination. • Manage the receiving and shipping of product and supplies that flow through the NHLC. • Adjust activities of the work team to adapt to employee absences, system issues, and/or equipment problems. • Ensure all orders are shipped to facilities in a timely manner in adherence to the delivery schedule including coordination with trucking companies for on-time departures. • Responsible for adherence to warehouse procedures including, but not limited to, tote cleaning, cart repair, equipment checks, safety precautions, receiving and shipping procedures, etc. • Monitor employee productivity and quality errors and implement and manage training as needed. • Flexibility to support warehouse operations including working in other areas of the warehouse to provide support during absences or shortage of staff. • Demonstrate a safety first attitude and foster a safe work environment for all associates. • Assist the Inventory Specialist as necessary with pull downs and replenishment tasks to ensure fill rate is maximized. • Execute with minimal guidance and show strong initiative • Serve as a role model for demonstrating how to live company values. • Demonstrate effective and appropriate conflict resolution skills. • Proactively collaborate with peers to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact execution of core responsibilities (e.g., change in scope). • Manage human resources within area of responsibility to provide the most appropriate and effective utilization for the workload.
What We're Looking For
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of two years direct work experience in a warehouse or supply chain function preferred.
+ Additional Skills/Requirements:
•
Capable of becoming certified to operate equipment used in the warehouse
•
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
•
Strong analytical and computer skills (Microsoft applications) essential
