Job Summary
+ The Specialty Service Manager (SSM) schedules and directs personnel and resources toward providing quality, cost-effective specialty services to our clients. SSMs support the Account Manager(s) in estimating, designing, and engaging in client meetings as needed. SSMs also sell specialty services to new and existing clients, oversee a commercial landscape portfolio and multiple service teams, train and develop individuals, and provide day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s)
+ Manage all landscape specialty services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work
+ Inspect properties before scheduled services and prepare specific action plans for service
+ Monitor all aspects of the landscape and identify any problems after installation and services
+ Perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands
+ Implement and enforce BrightView policies and procedures related to proper upkeep and maintenance, storage, use, and training required for branch equipment
+ Work with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew employees, and prepare daily crew schedules
+ Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all personnel changes and hires
+ Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop growth plans for employees
+ Provide hands-on training and support of crew personnel, including proper operation of equipment, horticultural techniques, safety, and quality standards
+ Implement methods to improve safe workplace practices and monitor safety records
+ Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to timesheets, job databases, and service schedules
+ Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries
+ Request purchase orders and use per company guidelines
+ Assist the Branch Manager in the performance of specialty service sales tasks as required
Education and Experience:
+ Minimum of 2-year degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience required
+ Minimum of 3 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within an organization, the landscaping industry or local marketplace
+ Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses and professional certifications for relevant service lines
Physical Demands/Requirements:
+ Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and computer printer
+ Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the time
Work Environment:
+ Field-based position, a combination of office and customer-facing
