ALLETE Clean Energy, headquartered in Duluth MN (ACE) specializes in developing and managing clean and renewable energy projects. This position is based at our Condon wind farm, located in Northcentral Oregon, just outside the City of Condon. For those looking for a rural setting, this wind farm is snuggled into the corner where the John Day River flows into the Columbia River, offering an abundance of diverse water and other outdoor activities. ACE operates 83 Mitsubishi 600 wind turbines on this site.
ALLETE Clean Energy is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Wind Site Supervisor to lead operations and maintenance activities at our wind energy facility in Condon, Oregon. The Wind Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the wind site, supervising site personnel, and maintaining compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Supervise daily operations and maintenance of the wind site, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
+ Lead and develop a team of technicians and contractors, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
+ Responsible for understanding the technical issues related to the performance of the wind site and turbines, to make the appropriate Operations and maintenance decisions.
+ Responsible for maintenance and operations management in coordination with other ACE specialists for the on-site substation, and for necessary high-voltage switching to maintain safe and reliable operation of the site.
+ Coordinate and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize site availability and performance.
+ Develop and maintain project and site budgets.
+ Maintain accurate records of site operations, project and site budgets, and customer and stakeholder contracts and agreements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
+ High school diploma required. Technical degree and/or wind-specific training highly desirable.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
+ Five or more years of experience in power operations, specific to wind energy is required.
+ Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Valid driver’s license required.
+ Proficiency in MS Office software, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
+ Strong knowledge of wind turbine technology, electrical and mechanical systems, and safety regulations.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ This position may require on-call availability and occasional travel.
+ This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
+ The expected annual compensation range for this position is $91,000 – $114,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
