Our client, a leader in higher education, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Financial Aid Support Specialist – Higher Education** to join their team. As a **Financial Aid Support Specialist – Higher Education** , you will be an essential part of the Office of Financial Aid supporting students and families. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a proactive attitude, which will enable you to succeed and grow within the organization.

**Location:** New York, NY 10003 (On-site)
**Duration:** 4 Months (January 26, 2026 – May 8, 2026)
**Schedule:** Monday – Friday | 9:45 AM – 4:15 PM
_(5.5 paid hours per day; 1-hour unpaid lunch)_
**Pay Range:** $28-$32hr
The Opportunity
Join a premier Higher Education institution in Manhattan to support students and families during the critical spring financial aid cycle. This role is ideal for a professional with strong communication skills and an interest in student services, providing vital assistance in navigating the complexities of federal and institutional funding.
Key Responsibilities
+ **Student Advocacy & Support:** Act as a primary point of contact for phone inquiries, providing clear guidance on financial aid processes, "To-Do" list items, and account holds.
+ **System Navigation:** Assist families in navigating the **Albert Student Center** and the Federal **Studentaid.gov** website to ensure successful aid application and disbursement.
+ **Data Integrity:** Document detailed, professional case notes within the **ServiceLink** portal to ensure seamless follow-up by counseling staff.
+ **Cross-Departmental Collaboration:** Coordinate with various campus offices to ensure students receive comprehensive responses to multi-faceted inquiries.
+ **Regulatory Compliance:** Strictly adhere to **FERPA** guidelines to protect student privacy and sensitive data (Training provided).
+ **Triage & Escalation:** Exercise sound judgment to identify complex cases requiring intervention from senior Financial Aid Counselors.

+ **Professionalism:** A positive attitude and the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with empathy and discretion.
+ **Communication:** Exceptional verbal and written skills for high-volume phone coverage and digital documentation.
+ **Reliability:** A commitment to the full 4-month duration with punctual, consistent attendance.
+ **Adaptability:** Ability to respond professionally to feedback and thrive in a fast-paced academic environment.
