The Core Services AI Foundations team is looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical (PMT-ES) to drive our mission of empowering AWS builders to deliver AI solutions efficiently and securely.
As a Principal PMT-ES, you'll lead the product strategy and execution for building AI
foundations for Applied AI Solutions teams, working with teams such as Amazon Connect,
Amazon Workspaces, AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences, and AWS Supply Chain. You'll be
responsible for creating an ecosystem of tools, services, and frameworks that accelerate AI
development and deployment while ensuring secure, reliable, and unified end-user
experiences.
The target opportunity in the Gen AI and Agentic AI arenas is massive, but also ambiguous,
and this exceptional role requires an individual with a track record of shipping products,
experience working with external partners and engineering teams, and stellar leadership
skills to create a vision and rally teams around a common goal. The successful candidate will
have a passion for innovating, have deep technical expertise, be comfortable with
ambiguity, and be motivated by a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
This role requires exceptional technical depth, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence
across organizational boundaries. You'll work closely with senior leadership and teams across
AWS to shape the technical direction of Applied AI Solutions, while ensuring our foundations
meet the diverse needs of our internal builders and ultimately their customers. You will be
part of the larger product leadership community at Amazon and AWS. This community plays
a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to
develop business targets and resource requirements, influences our long-term technical and
business strategy, and ultimately enables us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Core Services AI Foundations
- Partner with Applied AI Solutions teams to understand their needs and pain points,
ensuring our tools, services and frameworks accelerate their development velocity
- Define and deliver foundational capabilities that enable secure, reliable, and scalable
AI solution development
- Lead detailed technical requirements and architectural decisions that shape what we
deliver
- Drive standardization and best practices across AWS Applied AI Solutions
- Establish metrics and success criteria for adoption and effectiveness
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple AWS organizations
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- 5+ years of technical experience in software development, distributed systems, or
AI/ML
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are
responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
- Track record of driving technical decisions and architecture at scale
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML technologies and development workflows
- Deep understanding of software development platforms and developer experience
- Strong track record of delivering results in complex, matrix organizations
- Excellence in technical communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience building and leading product teams
- MBA or advanced technical degree
- Previous experience working with AWS services and cloud architecture

A day in the life
You'll work at the intersection of product, technology, and business strategy. On any given
day, you might be:
- Meeting with Applied AI Solutions teams to understand their challenges and gather
requirements
- Working with engineering teams to define technical architecture and implementation
approaches
- Analyzing usage metrics for our tools, services and frameworks and identifying
opportunities for improvement
- Writing PRFAQs and technical specifications for new capabilities
- Collaborating with security and compliance teams to ensure our foundation meets
AWS standards
- Presenting our strategy to senior leadership
- Evangelizing our tools, services and frameworks across Applied AI Solutions
- Mentoring other product managers and helping them grow their technical and
strategic skills

Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of database, data warehouse, or data lake solutions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
