Hiring a Temporary Substance Abuse Counselor** **(ACT Team)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals living with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders? Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a dynamic Substance Abuse Counselor to join a growing team dedicated to community-based recovery support. This temporary position includes travel reimbursement for client-related activities.
As a key member of the ACT team, you will provide training and support in substance abuse prevention and sobriety maintenance, incorporating a 12-step approach, while fostering stability and recovery in the community.
? **Location:** Rockville, MD
? **Pay Rate** : $22-$24.04 (based on experience, education, and location)
? **Mileage Reimbursement Provided**
? **Schedule** : M-F 830am-5pm
Assignment:
? **Responsibilities**
• Facilitate training in substance abuse prevention and sobriety maintenance, using 12-step programs and evidence-based practices for co-occurring disorders.
• Coordinate and provide transportation for community activities and AA/NA meetings.
• Create and maintain a monthly activity calendar highlighting resources to support sobriety.
• Administer drug screens as needed.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including individual treatment plans (ITPs) and progress notes.
• Organize recreational and social activities tailored to ACT clients.
• Provide case management services, including treatment planning, symptom management, supportive counseling, and coordination of client services.
• Conduct comprehensive life assessments.
• Deliver on-call crisis intervention during scheduled nights and weekends.
• Support clients’ families and caregivers, advocate for client rights, and adjust care plans as client needs evolve.
• Uphold the principles of the ACT Model of Care with high fidelity.
? **Qualifications**
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Addiction Counseling, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Experience: 1–3 years working with individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
• Certifications: Certified or eligible for certification in addictions treatment.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Other Skills: Strong independence, excellent documentation, and case management skills.

**Pay Details:** $24.04 per hour
