Position Summary:
The Strategic Intelligence Manager is responsible for leading the collection, analysis, and communication of relevant intelligence to inform strategic decision-making across the organization. This role transforms competitive, market and industry insights into actionable strategies that enable the company to anticipate market shifts, capitalize on emerging opportunities, and mitigate potential threats. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the Strategic Intelligence Manager delivers clear, concise, and impactful insights to all levels of management, including executive leadership. Additionally, this role establishes best-in-class standards for commercial intelligence deliverables, ensuring measurable business outcomes and sustained value creation. In addition, this role proactively monitors macroeconomic trends that could reshape our industry, ensuring leadership is prepared for long-term shifts.
Deliverables for this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conduct in-depth analysis to identify competitor strengths, weaknesses, and strategic positioning.
+ Assess regional market dynamics and emerging threats to business performance.
+ Analyze macro-level trends that may impact the industry over the long term, and translate these insights into strategic scenarios for leadership consideration
+ Develop and implement proactive plans to mitigate competitive risks and leverage opportunities.
+ Provide timely updates on critical competitive developments, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic shifts, and product or application launches.
+ Engage senior sales and service channel leaders to align on strategic market intelligence, commercial execution, and drive unified competitive strategies across markets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Establish and execute research methodologies for competitive analysis.
+ Convert market, SSC, and customer competitive insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
+ Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, reports, and analyses.
+ Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables.
+ Collaborate effectively across teams to solve problems and adapt to changing requirements.
+ Partner with marketing on market strategy, product development, and key account initiatives.
+ Develop action plans based on strategic intelligence.
+ Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
+ Manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment and thrive in ambiguity.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree is required (Business, Engineering, Technical Equivalent preferred)
Masters Degree in a business or technical field or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience, in competitive intelligence, corporate strategy, strategic marketing or product management preferably in an industrial organization.

+ Translates Strategy into Action - Converts strategic objectives into clear, executable plans with defined outcomes and accountability.
+ Collaboration & Teamwork – Works effectively across matrixed teams and with distributors to achieve shared goals.
+ Ethical Leadership – Demonstrates integrity and high ethical standards in all actions.
+ Change Leadership – Acts as a catalyst for transformation, navigating ambiguity with flexibility and optimism.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
+ Working conditions associated with normal office environment.
+ Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).
+ Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.
+ Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.
+ Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
+ Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
