Job Title: Field Service EngineerJob Description

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to complete installations and troubleshoot automated foundry equipment. This role requires extensive automation knowledge, particularly in PLC troubleshooting, and involves national and international travel for 75% of the year. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLCs, and must be able to foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

+ Perform equipment installation, set-up, inspection, service, and maintenance of various product lines in both foundry and automotive plants.

+ Conduct run-off of assorted foundry automated equipment as well as specialized conveyor systems for the automotive industry.

+ Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers.

+ Work with Fanuc and Mitsubishi electrical systems.

+ Represent the company’s interests positively at customer plants.

Essential Skills

+ Large industrial equipment troubleshooting and installation.

+ PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).

+ Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

+ Ability to travel nationally and internationally for 75% of the year.

+ Effective communication abilities and customer-facing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Foundry experience.

+ Military experience.

+ In-house manufacturing experience.

+ Field Service experience.

+ Engineering degree.

Work Environment

This position requires extensive travel, with 75% of the time spent on the road and the remaining time on site in Grand Ledge. Work hours may vary between 45-60 hours per week, capped at 12 hours per day unless traveling. When not traveling, the engineer will engage in online troubleshooting, documentation, and computer work. The candidate can reside outside of Michigan as long as they can travel as required. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Ledge, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
