Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

Join our dynamic team as an Engineering Technician, where you will collaborate closely with our electrical engineers to conduct tests and validate innovative designs. Your role will be pivotal in supporting production with test fixtures and implementing test protocols during the manufacturing process. You will perform and document test protocols, diagnose field returns, and prepare detailed documentation for both new and current designs. Additionally, you will create basic prototypes and perform PCB reworks to ensure successful bench testing.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct tests alongside electrical engineers to validate designs.

+ Support production with test fixtures and implement test protocols.

+ Perform and document test protocols supplied by electrical engineers.

+ Diagnose field returns to determine causes of failure.

+ Prepare detailed test documentation and repair evaluation forms.

+ Create small proof of concept or bench prototypes for early-stage designs.

+ Perform PCB reworks, including soldering or changing components during prototype stages.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and electronics.

+ Experience with oscilloscopes and test equipment.

+ Understanding of electrical schematics and repair techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to operate tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, and oscilloscopes.

+ Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and create solutions.

+ Ability to keep accurate records and create written reports.

+ Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

+ Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Work Environment

Work in a close-knit, family-owned company where collaboration is key. Our team works hand in hand to achieve common goals. The dress code is business casual. You will be part of the systems group focusing on portable lithium-ion battery design projects. Work hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
