    Job Title: DrafterJob Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled Drafter proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA to create detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings for prototype components and assemblies. The role requires a strong understanding of tolerance stackups, manufacturing processes, and the ability to effectively prototype and refine designs. The Drafter will collaborate with designers and engineers to clean up designs, redline, and develop new prototypes while also writing various pieces of documentation.

    Responsibilities

    + Create detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.

    + Perform tolerance analysis and ensure accurate dimensions, materials, and finishes on all drawings.

    + Translate complex technical concepts into understandable instructions using drawings, images, and text.

    + Write clear, concise, and visually supported instructions for airplane assembly.

    + Work with designers and engineers to refine designs and develop new prototypes.

    + Draft and review manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, manuals, and assembly notes.

    + Utilize MS Word and ERP systems/Excel for pulling Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in SolidWorks.

    + Drafting experience with GD&T and redlining.

    + Experience in manufacturing documentation writing and reviewing.

    + Technical writing experience for work instructions, manuals, and assembly notes.

    + Aviation or aircraft experience and a passion for the field.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in prototype design and assembly drawing.

    + Solid modeling skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

    + Sheet metal design expertise.

    + Experience in aerospace or aviation industries is highly desirable.

    + Kit building experience.

    + Pilot license or desire to obtain one.

    Work Environment

    The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth. The company is rapidly expanding and currently engaged in multiple R&D projects.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AURORA, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
