About the Role:
Government Team is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer with a strong software engineering background . In this role, you will go beyond managing infrastructure; you will build the automated platforms and internal tools that enable application deployment with speed and reliability. You will treat "Infrastructure as Code" as a software development discipline, focusing on building robust APIs, automation frameworks, and self-service platforms.
Your Impact / Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based application infrastructure, including services such as ECR, EKS, S3, and Networking.
+ Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams inside of Cisco and external to Cisco to address dependencies and ensure seamless integration across projects.
+ Design and develop internal tools and APIs that abstract complex infrastructure, allowing developers to get software out the door more quickly and reliably.
+ Work with Terraform (TF) and Kubernetes (K8s) to automate and manage infrastructure as code (IaC).
+ Lead the development of sophisticated automation tools, primarily using Python, to eliminate manual intervention and drive efficiency.
+ Architect, design, and implement high-performance CI/CD pipelines that facilitate smooth migrations and enable continuous integration and delivery.
+ Ensure alignment with security policies, compliance requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
+ Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and performant.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must be a U.S. Person
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
+ Extensive experience in programming and scripting with Python preferred or proficiency in another language that demonstrates strong programming skills. You should have strong "programming chops" and be comfortable building tools and interacting with complex APIs.
+ 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with a focus on cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Containers, Microservices).
+ Deep familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
+ Proficiency with Terraform and other IaC tools to manage cloud deployments (AWS preferred).
+ Knowledge of secure coding practices, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
+ Solid interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to improve the developer experience and collaborate across functional boundaries.
Nice to Have Qualifications
+ Multi-Language Proficiency, experience with Go (Golang) for cloud-native tool development.
+ Experience with Helm and Ansible to manage Kubernetes workloads and configuration automation.
+ Proficiency in AWS technologies, including ECR, EKS, S3, and Networking.
+ Familiarity with government-related IT policies or regulatory requirements.
Work Environment & Expectations
+ This position offers the choice of being 100% Remote (US-based) or a Hybrid arrangement for those in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
+ As part of the W4G DevOps team, you will be on a highly collaborative team playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our currently deployed
+ US Government customers.

This is a Contract position based out of Annapolis, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $88.00/hr.
