Job Title: PlannerJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Planner to join our team. In this role, you will conduct site feasibility studies, due diligence, and land-use research while preparing conceptual site layouts, land-use plans, and supporting planning documents. You will manage the entitlement processes and coordinate with various municipal, regional, and state agencies throughout project review and approval.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct site feasibility studies, due diligence, and land-use research.
+ Review and interpret zoning ordinances, development regulations, environmental constraints, and comprehensive plans.
+ Prepare conceptual site layouts, land-use plans, and supporting planning documents.
+ Manage entitlement processes, including zoning applications, subdivision plans, site plans, and variance requests.
+ Coordinate with municipal, regional, and state agencies throughout project review and approval.
+ Attend planning board, zoning board, and public hearings as needed.
+ Collaborate with clients, engineers, surveyors, architects, and internal project teams.
+ Prepare planning reports, narrative summaries, maps, and presentation materials using GIS, CAD, and related tools.
+ Support community engagement by presenting project information to stakeholders and the public.
+ Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and communication records.
Essential Skills
+ Strong interest in zoning codes, land-use regulations, and site planning principles.
+ Proficiency with planning and mapping tools (GIS, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Experience in land development, urban planning, or civil engineering.
+ Familiarity with municipal approval processes and land development standards, environmental regulations, and environmental planning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Land Use Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, or Civil Engineering.
+ Master's degree in Planning is preferred.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a collaborative environment with clients, engineers, surveyors, architects, and internal project teams. You will use various planning and mapping tools, including GIS, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, and Adobe Creative Suite, to create and present project materials. Attendance at planning board, zoning board, and public hearings may be required. The work will also include supporting community engagement efforts by presenting project information to stakeholders and the public.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Plains, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
