    Job Title: Quality Engineer 4Job Description

     

    The main function of a Quality Engineer is to research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes. The role also involves developing quality standards, reading and interpreting blueprints, and evaluating product integrity and standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Review and approve sampling procedures, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

    + Review and supervise programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

    + Conduct training sessions on quality control activities.

    + Specialize in areas of quality control engineering such as design, incoming material process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software research and development, and administrative application.

    + Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

    + Plan and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.

    + Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical.

    + Manage quality control programs.

    Essential Skills

    + Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.

    + Strong leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

    + Experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering.

    + 8-10 years of experience in quality engineering.

    + GD&T and Dimensional Quality experience.

    Work Environment

    The role requires the use of various technologies and equipment typical to the engineering and quality control field, including CAD software. The position is detail-oriented and requires a collaborative team player approach.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Lansing, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
