Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist** **Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing the flow of goods, from unloading raw materials to preparing finished products for shipment. You will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring that inventory is accurately scanned and organized, and that shipments are efficiently prepared for delivery.

Responsibilities

+ Participate in daily team meetings to plan the day's activities.

+ Unload packaged raw conveyors and components from incoming trucks using a forklift.

+ Load finished conveyors onto outbound trucks and secure freight with straps.

+ Scan inventory in and out of the facility.

+ Manage inventory by scanning and storing various items received in the morning, including cables, tool cords, and shop accessories.

+ Prepare conveyors for next-day shipment, which includes placing cardboard inserts, cutting lumber for shipping supports, shrink-wrapping products, and labeling inventory.

+ Operate equipment such as hilo, power tools, nail guns, drills, and table saws.

+ Perform basic math tasks, such as measuring and cutting wood to specific dimensions.

+ Maintain clean work areas and demonstrate flexibility in assisting where needed.

+ Manage shipping and material control, including prepping pallets based on Bill of Materials.

Essential Skills

+ Forklift experience.

+ Experience in shipping and receiving.

+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.

+ Proficiency in using power tools.

+ Basic navigation of Microsoft Word.

+ Capability to secure equipment on trucks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Scanning experience.

+ Construction experience.

+ Familiarity with blueprints.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean building that combines the production floor and warehouse. Trucks back into an enclosed area, yet the space can feel like a warehouse in winter, so long sleeves are typically worn. In the summer, bay doors are open for ventilation, with some employees opting for shorts and t-shirts. The Shipping & Receiving group consists of about 10 members, fostering a respectful and laid-back culture. Expect to work in a setting without air conditioning, where teamwork and daily dedication are celebrated.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
