Job Title: Application Engineer (Early Career – Electrical Engineering)Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Application Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and hands-on co‑op, internship, or early professional experience (1+ year) who is interested in combining technical engineering skills with a customer-facing, sales-adjacent role.
In this position, you will engage closely with Sales and Business Unit teams, providing both pre-sale and post-sales technical support across our product lines, with a primary focus on Power Distribution, Power Generation, and Motion Control, including exposure to emerging technologies.
This role is ideal for an Electrical Engineer who enjoys problem-solving, explaining technical concepts, and collaborating with customers, and who wants to grow toward an applications, technical sales, or customer-facing engineering career path.
You will also support New Product Development (NPD) from initial design through mass production, develop application expertise within target markets, and work directly with customers to help define technical requirements for future products.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide pre-sale and post-sales technical support to customers and internal sales teams.
+ Deliver technical training on new products and technologies to customers, distributors, and sales personnel.
+ Act as a technical liaison between customers, sales, product managers, and manufacturing teams.
+ Learn and apply new technologies to support evolving customer requirements.
+ Develop subject matter expertise in Power Distribution, Power Generation, and Motor Control products.
+ Assist with New Product Development, from design support through transition to mass production.
+ Develop and maintain technical marketing content, including data briefs, datasheets, white papers, and application notes.
+ Respond to technical inquiries in a timely manner and help resolve technical objections in support of the sales process.
+ Systematically gather and funnel customer feedback to Business Unit and Marketing teams to support product development and roadmap planning.
+ Evaluate the technical features of competitor products and help develop strategies to address competitive positioning.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
+ Solid understanding of basic electrical theory, including Ohm’s Law
+ Working knowledge of circuits, resistors, capacitors, and MOSFETs
+ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, both over the phone and in person
+ Interest in customer interaction, technical consulting, and sales support
+ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
+ Internship or co‑op experience working with electronic products
+ or
+ 1+ year of professional experience in application engineering, product engineering, or a related technical role
+ Exposure to customer-facing roles, technical support, or cross-functional collaboration is a plus
Work Environment & Benefits
This position is based within a hands-on design engineering and manufacturing organization. The primary work environment is office/cubicle-based within the Engineering team, with regular exposure to manufacturing operations, allowing you to see products built and tested firsthand.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bohemia, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $36.00/hr.
