Job Title: MIG Welder/Assembler

**Shift:** 8am-5pm Mon-Fri

**Pay:** $17-$18/hr

**Location** : Westside, Jacksonville (32221)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder Assembler who will play a crucial role in the construction of safe rooms. This position requires proficiency in MIG welding, with some TIG welding involved as well. The job entails building wall panels, welding, installing drywall, painting, and using hand and power tools to measure and cut various materials. Approximately 50% of your time will be dedicated to welding, while the remaining time will be spent on other tasks within the shop, primarily focusing on panel building. Teamwork is essential as you will be working in groups of 4-6, constructing these rooms based on drawings, for which training will be provided. A strong ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th is vital.

Responsibilities

+ Construct safe rooms through MIG and some TIG welding.

+ Build wall panels, install drywall, and paint.

+ Utilize hand and power tools to measure and cut materials.

+ Collaborate in teams of 4-6 to complete construction tasks.

+ Work from drawings and receive training on reading them.

+ Read a tape measure accurately down to the 16th.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in MIG welding, with the ability to pass a weld test.

+ Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or a shop setting.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ Ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th inch.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with TIG welding is a plus.

+ Experience with chop saw, bandsaw, and shear is advantageous.

+ Ability to cut products to size using tape measure and square.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a smaller, open-air shop where you will be part of a very diverse workforce. The position operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with opportunities to travel approximately three times a year for two weeks at a time. All tools are provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
