    Job Title: Steel Inspector

     

    Pay: $23/HR - $25/HR

     

    Schedule: 5AM Shift / 4-10 Schedule / Friday OT as needed

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Dimensional Inspector with experience in structural steel to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform visual inspections before and after welding of iron and steel parts, ensuring that each piece conforms to blueprints and specifications. You will inspect up to 50 pieces a day using a tape measure and your expertise in reading blueprints. Experience with steel or iron is preferred, and experience in fitting would be advantageous.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform **dimensional inspection of shop fabrication** and **final paint inspections** .

    + Ensure all **fabricated materials conform to shop drawings** , shop **standards** , and specifications.

    + Maintain in-process and **final inspection** records for quality assurance and production control.

    + Communicate any dimensional concerns to foremen promptly.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in reading and **interpreting blueprints.**

    + Proficiency in using a **tape measure for accurate measurements** .

    + Strong skills in visual inspection of iron and steel parts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + XP in steel or iron industries.

    + Experience as a fitter is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working in a shop environment next to an office building. The space is open, which means it may be colder in the winter and warmer in the summer. The shop is busy with large beams and iron products being moved around, leading to a potentially loud environment. The schedule consists of four 10-hour days starting at 5 am.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SACRAMENTO, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
