    Job Title: CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    Join our team as a CNC Machinist, working on the 2nd shift from 4pm-12:30am, Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays and Saturdays from 2:30pm-10:30pm. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You will apply your knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments and parts.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts.

    + Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments like micrometers or vernier calipers.

    + Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.

    + Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.

    + Measure, examine, or test completed units for defects and ensure they meet specifications.

    + Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

    + Maintain machine tools in operational condition.

    + Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations.

    + Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.

    + Check workpieces to ensure proper lubrication or cooling.

    + Program computers or electronic instruments for machine tools.

    + Diagnose machine tool malfunctions for adjustments or repairs.

    + Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.

    + Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock for cuts.

    + Fit and assemble parts for machine tools.

    + Operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting equipment.

    + Dispose of scrap or waste material following company policies and environmental regulations.

    + Separate scrap waste for reuse, recycling, or disposal.

    + Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency.

    + Dismantle machines to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts.

    + Install repaired parts or new equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience operating Haas machines.

    + Experience working in a custom machine shop.

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Technical School Certificate in machining is desirable.

    + Minimum 2 years of experience.

    + **Experience with American, LeBlond, and Kingston machines preferred** .

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is an enclosed fabrication shop that is not climate controlled. It is a typical rough and tough setting for a shop of this size. Minimal training will be provided, so be prepared to jump in and start working on CNC machines and manual lathes.

    This is a Contract position based out of Pulaski, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
