Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced industrial painter to expertly paint large sheets of shell plate and perform detailing work. The role primarily involves the use of an airless spray gun to apply a 3-coat system, prepping and masking products, calculating paint millage, and operating equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Some basic blasting duties are also required, comprising 10-20% of the tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Apply paint using an airless spray gun with a 3-coat system.

+ Prep and mask products for painting.

+ Calculate the millage of paint applied.

+ Operate an overhead crane to move spray racks in and out of the paint and grit booths.

+ Use a forklift to transport parts around the shop.

+ Perform basic blasting duties, accounting for 10-20% of tasks.

Requirements

+ 3+ years of industrial painting experience.

+ Experience operating an airless spray gun.

+ Ability to calculate paint millage.

+ Proficiency in prepping and masking products.

+ Experience operating an overhead crane.

+ Capability to remain clean-shaven for respirator mask use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to sandblast.

+ Experience using a conventional spray gun.

+ Forklift operation experience.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large, non-climate-controlled shop handling heavy materials. The day shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on a second shift for 2-3 months out of the year, starting mid-next year.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77064.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
