Plant Controller (Greenfield Manufacturing Plant) — Our Client
Overview
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is launching a greenfield plant and is hiring a Plant Controller to help build the finance foundation from the ground up. This is a high-visibility leadership role with exposure to senior and executive leadership. The Plant Controller partners closely with the Plant Manager and leadership team, spends time on the plant floor, and helps develop best practices, controls, reporting, and dashboarding supported by strong technology and modern tools.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead plant financial operations, reporting, controls, and accountability to results.
+ Drive annual budget, monthly forecast, and ongoing variance analysis (labor, materials, overhead, productivity).
+ Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting and plant KPI dashboards.
+ Support month-end close, inventory accounting, cycle counts/physical inventory, and perpetual inventory monitoring.
+ Provide financial impact analysis for engineering changes, capital/spend requests, and operational initiatives.
+ Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, and materials teams to support continuous improvement (Kaizen/lean).
+ Support A/P, A/R, payroll, and purchasing workflows; strengthen processes as the plant scales.
+ Coach, develop, and manage plant accounting/finance staff in a collaborative team environment.
+ Perform other duties as needed in a dynamic, fast-paced plant setting.
Travel
Minimal travel may be required for training or controllership conferences.

Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
+ 7+ years of progressive experience, including current or prior experience in a manufacturing plant as a Plant Controller, Assistant Controller, or plant finance leader.
+ Strong month-end close, standard costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing variance analysis experience.
+ Advanced Excel skills; experience with manufacturing ERP (e.g., QAD/MFG PRO or similar) and reporting/BI tools.
+ Strong communication, leadership, and business-partnering skills; high integrity and hands-on approach
