Job Description: Senior Accountant (7+ Years Experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting, as well as proven expertise in leading month-end and year-end close processes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial decisions and help optimize our accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or applicable standards.

+ Manage and review general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

+ Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

+ Coordinate and support audits (internal and external), preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

+ Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

+ Research complex accounting issues and provide guidance on technical accounting matters.

+ Mentor and train junior staff, offering support and reviewing their work as necessary.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.

+ Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

+ Support process improvement projects to enhance efficiency within the accounting function.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or relevant certification preferred.

+ In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.

+ Strong proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

+ Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.

+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.

+ Demonstrated experience in process improvement and internal control implementation.
