Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in San Bernardino, California. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries for both cash and accrual transactions.

• Reconcile balance sheets and analyze accounts, including debts and credits.

• Handle manual entries for the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to support financial reporting processes.

• Assist in corporate tax preparation, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

• Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve them.

• Provide support during audits by gathering and organizing necessary documentation.

• Work closely with other departments to streamline accounting procedures.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and tax return preparation.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including general ledger and journal entries.

• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations with attention to detail.

• Familiarity with manual accounting processes and systems.

• Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
