Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves managing billing processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and supporting general accounting activities within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and distribute various types of invoices, including progress and milestone-based billing, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging schedules and actively manage collections to maintain optimal cash flow.
• Reconcile customer accounts by posting payments and verifying ledger accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date customer billing records, including retainage details and tax rates based on state and local regulations.
• Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
• Assist with tracking cash flow, performing variance analysis, and preparing for audits.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in billing and accounting operations.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable, payroll, and vendor relations as needed.
• Coordinate with other departments to confirm project status and billing requirements.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable and project billing.
• Familiarity with construction billing methods, such as percentage-complete or milestone billing, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and general accounting practices.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a small team.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
