The Role

This role is designed for a mid-level to senior civil litigation attorney who can step into active matters and contribute immediately. Depending on experience, the attorney will manage cases independently or with partner support, from inception through resolution.

This is not an entry-level or training role; candidates should be comfortable handling substantive litigation responsibilities.

Representative Matters

+ Employment litigation, including wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims

+ PAGA and class action defense

+ Construction-related disputes and insurance-driven litigation

+ Business and commercial litigation matters

+ Pre-litigation counseling, compliance guidance, and risk assessment

Responsibilities

+ Manage civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, commensurate with experience

+ Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and case evaluations

+ Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

+ Develop litigation strategy and assess exposure and risk

+ Handle discovery strategy and law-and-motion practice

+ Communicate directly with clients and insurers

+ Conduct legal research and prepare substantive memoranda

+ Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation

+ Track and manage billable time accurately and consistently

Requirements

Requirements

+ 2+ years of California civil litigation experience (no entry-level candidates)

+ Defense-side experience strongly preferred

+ Demonstrated ability to draft pleadings and manage discovery independently

+ Deposition experience (taking or defending)

+ Strong legal writing, analytical, and case-management skills

+ Sound billing judgment and disciplined timekeeping practices

+ Experience with employment litigation, construction disputes, or insurance defense is a plus
