Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented GL Staff Accountant to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This is a long-term contract position ideal for an experienced accounting expert with a strong grasp of general ledger systems and financial processes. The role requires excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to managing tasks in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closings.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor monthly financial transactions.

• Generate corporate tax returns and handle sales tax reporting with precision.

• Analyze financial data and create detailed reports using advanced Excel formulas.

• Utilize accounting software such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online for efficient financial management.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support grant management and financial reporting needs.

• Assist with payroll processing and fund accounting tasks.

• Perform occasional front desk support or reception duties as needed.

• Contribute to special projects and fiscal initiatives assigned by leadership. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, including fund accounting and payroll.

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and data analysis.

• Strong understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• High level of ethical standards and attention to detail.
