NOTICE: SpecialtyRx is seeking Regional Purchasing Manager in our Ridgefield Park, NJ for PA, Austin and Dallas Texas.
The Purchasing Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the efficient and compliant oversight of all purchasing operations, inventory accuracy, and vendor coordination across a portfolio of assigned pharmacy locations. This manager will supervise and develop local Purchasers and Inventory Technicians, ensuring that all procurement activities align with company financial policies, budget goals, and regulatory requirements. The primary objective is to minimize out-of-stock occurrences and optimize overall inventory flow and cost control across the organization
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement regional purchasing strategies to support operational and financial objectives.
+ Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical wholesalers, manufacturers, and other suppliers.
+ Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and service levels to achieve competitive cost savings.
+ Oversee inventory levels across multiple long-term care pharmacy locations to ensure adequate stock while minimizing waste and excess.
+ Implement systems for forecasting demand, replenishment planning, and expiration management.
+ Maintain documentation and audit trails for all procurement transactions and contracts.
+ Address non-compliance and initiate corrective actions as needed.
+ Work closely with the Regional Pharmacy Directors, Finance, Operations, and Quality Assurance teams.
+ Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership on pricing trends, supply risks, and policy improvements.
+ Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing staff and coordinate cross-location purchasing activities.
+ Willing to travel to other pharmacy locations.
Qualifications
+ NJS Registered Pharmacy Technician, preferred.
+ Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required).
+ 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably within pharmacy, healthcare, or long-term care settings.
+ Experience managing inventory and supplier relationships across multiple locations.
+ Proven ability to negotiate contracts and achieve cost savings.
