Job Description:
Competently perform skilled maintenance work, with an emphasis on mechanical equipment, at a combined cycle power plant. Responsible for preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and/or installation of equipment including turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, valves, motors, filtration, and other auxiliary equipment, as qualifications allow. Installation & fabrication of new parts & equipment for projects. Stands shifts as the Outside Operator. Follow all safety, generation, & environmental regulations to ensure compliance with state & federal laws.
**Note:** There is one position available, and the position will be filled at one of five job grade levels: Combined Cycle Technician I, job grade T2; Combined Cycle Technician II, job grade T3; Combined Cycle Technician III, job grade T4; Combined Cycle Technician IV, job grade T5; or Journey Level Combined Cycle Technician, job grade T6. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Responsibilities:
+ Competently maintain and/or repair mechanical equipment in a combined cycle generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment with no guidance or assistance.
+ Provide training for less experienced plant maintenance staff.
+ Provides leadership in major activities & projects with a multi-discipline team
+ Perform overall plant maintenance, preventive and corrective, as individual qualifications allow.
+ Satisfactorily completion of required training including but not limited to:
+ LM6000 Level 1 Training
+ First Aid & CPR
+ HAZWOPER Training
+ Keep maintenance supervisor & operations fully informed of plant operating status, unusual conditions, and faulty equipment.
+ Learn and apply safe, effective use of hand tools, power tools, precision equipment, and specialized equipment used in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
+ Adhere to spill prevention and emergency response procedures.
+ Communicate detailed status of plant conditions to fellow Combined Cycle Technicians at shift turnover.
+ Use CMMS (Oracle) to manage inventory, work management and procurement efforts. Display a proficiency in using the system consistent with established procedures.
+ Operation of fluid valves, as required to maintain proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
+ Diagnose and determine root cause of plant equipment malfunctions or failures.
+ Read, understand and comply with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Maintain adherence to all plant environmental permits.
+ Work shift hours, overtime, irregular, and call out/standby hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. From time to time, working hours will be determined on short notice, based on needs of the facility.
+ Perform general plant housekeeping. Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and control room, or other housekeeping duties as assigned.
+ Maintain plant security in conformance with site procedures.
+ Perform Collateral Duties in conformance with Collateral Duty Program, as assigned by Plant Management.
+ Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.
+ Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job. **OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS**

Qualifications:
Education and Training
+ A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent power plant operations and maintenance experience.
+ Outside Operator Qualified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
+ Demonstrates knowledge of all facets of power plant operations and maintenance.
+ Metal fabrication including welding, cutting, & pipefitting.
+ Vibration monitoring & troubleshooting equipment.
+ Machine alignment using Optalign.
+ Capable of writing maintenance procedures, work requests, inventory requests, and purchase requisitions.
+ Demonstrate the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
+ Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's. Write routine reports and solve practical problems.
+ Must clearly communicate tasks and needs (both verbally and in writing).
+ Demonstrates basic computer literacy.
+ Assist operations with start-up and shut down situations.
+ Monitor plant equipment using gauges, meters, & automated systems to record operational data.
+ Provide input for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
+ Participate in emergency response activities as trained.
Experience:
+ Eight (8) plus years of experience including:
+ At least one (1) year of experience as a Combined Cycle Technician, Level IV and
+ Four (4) years of power plant experience, combustion turbines experience preferred.

**Note** : The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Journey Level Combined Cycle Technician. Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II, III or IV job grade level.
