Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Representative

Position:

SAS has an Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Representative.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Assist leadership in establishing, promoting and maintaining a workplace safety culture in alignment with company values.

+ Execute specific awareness campaigns, as directed by leadership, to further promote safe behavior.

+ Assist in the development and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures.

+ Assist in identifying, developing and implementing effective and feasible risk control.

+ Conduct safety and environmental inspections and audits to verify compliance with applicable regulations and identify unsafe condition/behaviors.

+ Organize and archive both safety and environmental documentation required by either company policy or regulation.

+ Interact with OSHA and other safety and environmental agencies.

+ Conduct research projects to identify and monitor the operation’s current environmental performance and comparing data to established performance standards.

+ Conduct environmental and industrial hygiene sampling and testing as directed.

+ Maintain a current “Authorized Driver List” for the facility of assignment, and identify and correct gaps with applicable company policy.

+ Facilitate classroom occupational safety and environmental compliance training.

+ Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

+ Physical labor is necessary for 8 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including: sitting, standing, walking (inclines & uneven terrain), climbing stairs, stooping, and kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing and engaging in repetitive motions.

+ Work will be conducted in a climate controlled office environment.

+ Lifting and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Education & Experience Requirements:

+ Occupational Safety/Environmental Certification

+ Current CPR Certification

+ Computer literate in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred: Previous EHS experience
