    *ANTICIPATED VACANCY*

     

    This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the Bureau of Re-Entry and Transition Services.

     

    The mission of the Bureau of Re-Entry and Transition Services in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to facilitate the successful reintegration of inmates into society by providing comprehensive support and resources.

     

    This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

    JOB DUTIES:

    + Training Coordination: Organize staff training, workshops, and meetings for Re-Entry and Transition Services.

    + Grant Management: Assist in monitoring grant awards, reviewing opportunities, preparing applications, and managing the grant application process.

    + Contract Development: Help develop contract scopes and monitoring tools, analyze data, and recommend program improvements.

    + Research and Proposals: Review best practices in reentry programs, develop requests for proposals, and assist with legislative budget requests and bill analysis.

    + Program Monitoring: Develop and conduct program monitoring, including onsite visits to ensure quality and compliance.

    + Contract Oversight: Participate in contract solicitation, development, and review, addressing non-compliance and recommending corrective actions.

    + Operational Assistance: Provide support to institutional staff, improving decision-making and efficiency, and manage expenditure requests through MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP).

    + Compliance and Grievance Handling: Manage contract changes, review legal impacts, respond to inmate grievances, and ensure contractor performance meets standards.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.

     

    + Mustpossess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

    + Mustpossess a valid driver’s license.

    + Mustpossess two (2) years of experience in re-entry and/or transition services.

    + Mustpossess two (2) years of administrative experience supervising staff.

    + Must possess two (2) years of correctional agency related analytical research, data analysis, and auditing experience.

     

    Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

    BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

    The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.

    EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY

    The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) only hires U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. FDC uses E-Verify to confirm an employee’s eligibility to work after completing the I-9 form.
