The Production Scheduler plans, schedules and coordinates all activities required to move an order through the manufacturing process.

Requirements

• Review in-coming orders for accuracy and completeness

• Check that material and shop orders are created or on order for components

• Monitor emails for request to improve or change quantities or ship dates

• Monitor progress of all open sales orders, focusing on adherence to schedule and on-time delivery

• Adjust production schedules as needed in response to manufacturing and supply chain issues, notifying supervisor of any changes

• Perform other job duties as assigned, based on workload and business need

• Review Production Planning Quotes for lead times which include standard and Expedited deliveries

• Work closely with Sales notifying them if orders are going to be delayed

• Working with Engineering if issues due to structure or routers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in Business or other related field preferred

• This can be an entry level position. At least one (1) year experience as planning, expediting or production control in a similar high mix/low volume production environment.

SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Windows and Office

• Basic math skills

• Intermediate reading skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing procedures

• Ability to perform the essential functions of each subordinate position in department

• Ability to read basic drawings a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sufficient manual dexterity to successfully use a computer

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required

• Frequently required to stand and/or walk, up to 2 hours per day, and make frequent trips from the office area to the manufacturing area

• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area, including, but not limited to, safety glasses and safety shoes.
