Scope of Job
To provide strategic leadership in the assessment of academic programs that hold discipline-specific accreditation (e.g., engineering, social work, nursing). Oversee high-level technical and analytical processes, fostering collaboration with faculty and stakeholder to ensure that programs meet specialized accreditor assessment standards while aligning with institutional accreditor assessment standards.
Description of Duties
+ Manages the alignment of specialized accreditation assessment requirements with institutional standards, such as those of SACSCOC , by mapping outcomes, measures, and reporting practices to ensure coherence, compliance, and strategic integration across academic programs.Leads efforts to help faculty and assessment leaders recognize strategic alignments and interconnections between specialized accreditation requirements and SACSCOC standards, fostering cohesive and efficient assessment practices across programs.
+ Oversees the technical and content support provided to faculty and staff representing specialized accredited programs in completing the periodic assessment reports.
+ Manages the design and implementation of effective data collection instruments and methodologies that support meaningful and reliable assessment of student learning and program outcomes.
+ Leads the design and execution of comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analyses of student learning outcomes to generate actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement across academic programs.
+ Manages the preparation and development of analytical reports that present assessment results clearly and effectively, including detailed data tabulation and interpretation to support evidence-based decision-making.
+ Ensures the maintenance of records and documentation of assessment plans and reports for discipline-specific accreditation, supporting compliance with external reporting standards.
+ Supervises trainings and individual coaching for faculty and staff to improve their assessment process and related activities to meet specialized and institutional accreditation standards.
+ Prepares detailed briefing materials, presentations; provide relevant facts and data for meetings, reports, inquires, and presentations.
+ Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and ensuring department/program outcomes are achieved.
+ Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations.

Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Data Science, Business Analytics, or other related field from an accredited university.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Three years of progressively responsible experience in assessment, institutional research, or program review with direct involvement in accreditation, compliance reporting, and external regulatory standards.
Preferred Experience
Professional experience in higher education, including one or more of the following: direct involvement with institutional or specialized accreditation processes; managing large and complex academic or administrative projects; conducting research and data analysis to support program evaluation, assessment, or accreditation efforts. Experience working with academic programs and faculty.

Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Knowledge of learning outcomes assessment, curriculum mapping, and program review. Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making. Ability to ensure compliance with external accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Ability to work independently while collaborating across academic and administrative units. Knowledge of regional and discipline-specific accreditation standards. Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to academic programs.
