As a family, admissions positions are responsible for the student recruitment and admissions program at a campus. The office is involved with every aspect of this endeavor, from highest level of policy development to working with students with respect to individual admissions. SUNY Polytechnic Institute Admissions Counselors participate in the general work of the Admissions Office, including all phases of undergraduate recruitment from generating inquiries to reviewing applications to enrolling students. This person will serve as a recruiter throughout NYS promoting the institution to prospective students (first-year and transfer), parents, and the guidance community. Overnight travel and occasional evening and weekend work is required. Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, strong written and verbal communications and a valid driver's license are all required.
ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Independently review high school and community college transcripts and make admissions decisions to help achieve our institutional enrollment goals each year.
+ Interview prospective students while maintaining regular follow up with recruits, applicants, and admitted students through email, mail, telephone, and texting.
+ Provide detailed information on the campus curriculum, academic programs, residence hall programs and financial assistance during on campus information sessions and during travel to high schools and two-year colleges to conduct individual visits, participate in college fairs, counselor programs and parent nights throughout NYS.
+ Assist with the coordination of on-campus recruitment events such as Open Houses, Information Sessions, and Accepted Student Days.
Salary: $51,261

Job Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree (required) from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
+ Has 1-3 years of experience in college admissions or related field.
+ Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite; and aptitude to learn new systems as needed.
+ Have a valid driver's license
