    Job Overview

     

    Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Health Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday through Thursday from 7:30AM - 4PM. No weekends!

     

    The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team.

    Responsibilities

    + Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

    + Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.

    + Verifies patient identification and documentation

    + Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.

    + Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.

    + Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.

    + Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

    + Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols.

    + Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.

    + Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.

    + Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.

    + Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.

    + Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

    + Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies

    + Accepts unique customer service expectations in Imaging

    + Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines and according to manufacturers’ Information for Use

    + Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines

    Required Qualifications

    + ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 Days

    + Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

    Preferred Qualifications

    + ARDMS registered in multiple specialties

    + Breast experience
