Job Description

An employer is seeking a SDET for a large financial client sitting in Charlotte, NC. We’re looking for a highly technical Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering, API testing, and intelligent automation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and accuracy of our inbound/outbound AI call systems, Salesforce integrations, and AWS based migration initiatives. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, AI/ML teams, and Salesforce teams to validate complex data flows, build automated test frameworks, and support large scale cloud modernization efforts.

Responsibilities include:

• Help create a culture that motivates teams to ensure zero defects into production

• Work across teams to understand enterprise quality requirements and ensure adoption of core processes and standards

• Implement the shift-left test strategy as the organization rearchitects our technology platform

• Partner with DevOps engineers to fully automate testing throughout the release & delivery processes in the CI/CD pipeline

• Leverage market-leading automation frameworks and tools across all levels of testing that integrate in the automated CI/CD pipeline

• Participate in product design reviews ensuring quality practices are baked into the software development and deployment life cycle

• Work with internal teams to document test environment and test data management container strategies and provisioning for the different types of testing activities

• Comprehend and decompose user stories/requirements to identify what tests need to be created and automated across all levels of testing

• Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans

Skills and Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in test automation engineering with API based testing

o Proficiency writing code in TypeScript/JavaScript

o Proficiency with GraphQL testing, graph schema validation

o Proficiency with RestAPI testing best practices

o Experience with AWS services:

• CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB

o Experience with build systems and CI/CD

• GIT, GitLab, Docker

o Experience with load testing technologies and best practices:

• LoadRunner, Gatling

o Automating API testing and extensive knowledge of creating and leveraging mocks, stubs, and virtual services to fulfill test automation requirements

o Experience with market tools:

• Postman/Insomnia

o Experience with open-source testing frameworks:

• Jest o Strong knowledge of relation databases, SQL

o Good understanding of mobile automation with Appium being a plus

o Good understanding of python programming language

o Understanding of functional front-end automation:

• Selenium

• Playwright

• Cypress

o Familiarity with Agile Frameworks and regression testing

o Financial services technology/ consumer banking testing experience

o Automating tests for the full solution stack (unit, business logic, contract, usability, functional, performance)
