Texas Instruments is seeking a Summer Intern for an exciting opportunity within our Smart Manufacturing and Automation (SMA) Quality & Test organization. As an SMA Intern, you will work on meaningful projects involving AI, machine learning, and workflow automation that are both challenging and impactful to the organization.
The SMA Quality & Test team drives manufacturing excellence across TI's global semiconductor operations through innovative test strategies, quality systems, and process automation. Our team leverages AI and machine learning technologies to optimize manufacturing workflows, enhance test coverage, and enable continuous improvement. As an AI/ML Automation Intern, you will develop intelligent automation solutions, build LLM-powered tools, and create data-driven systems that support manufacturing quality and test operations.
In this role, you'll have the chance to:
+ Design and develop AI-powered automation workflows using LLM platforms and agentic frameworks
+ Build data analytics dashboards and APIs that support manufacturing quality decisions
+ Create and refine prompt engineering solutions for manufacturing use cases
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement ML-driven solutions
+ Contribute to test automation frameworks that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

Minimum Requirements:
+ Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
+ Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
+ Programming experience in Python or a similar language
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with AI code generation platforms (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) or LLM APIs
+ Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
+ Exposure to agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI) or Model Context Protocol (MCP)
+ Proficiency in Python, SQL, or scripting languages for automation
+ Experience with data visualization tools or dashboard development
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to collaborate with people across different functions
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
+ Self-motivated with a drive to deliver results
