Waste Connections is hiring an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver for our Murrey’s Disposal team in Fife, Washington.

Pay & Schedule

+ Starting Pay: $35.00–$35.50 per hour

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday

+ Shift Start: Between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM

+ Overtime: Regular OT + occasional Saturdays

+ Location: Fife, WA (Pierce County, Washington)

Position Overview

We are looking for a professional Class A driver who can safely operate manual‑transmission tractor‑trailer equipment and deliver excellent service on local waste and recycling routes. This job is physically active and perfect for drivers who prefer being out on the route rather than sitting all day.

Essential Job Functions

+ Operate manual‑transmission Class A tractor‑trailer trucks on established local routes throughout the Fife and Tacoma area

+ Enter and exit the cab repeatedly during the shift — often dozens of times per day

+ Perform your own tarping on containers, including climbing, pulling, tightening, and securing heavy tarps

+ Manually secure loads to ensure safe and compliant transportation

+ Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company safety standards

+ Follow route sheets and complete all assigned customer stops accurately and efficiently

+ Haul, dump, and swap containers at designated sites, requiring physical handling and maneuvering of equipment

+ Provide safe, professional, and courteous service to every customer, every day

Physical & Environmental Requirements

+ Lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs

+ Work outdoors in all Washington weather conditions

+ Exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, and moving equipment

+ Strict compliance with all safety protocols

+ **Safety‑Sensitive: YES**

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet ALL of the following:

+ Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement

+ Ability to operate a manual transmission (no automatic restrictions)

+ At least 2 consecutive years with the same employer in your most recent job. **_Stable work history required_**

+ Minimum 2 years of Class A driving experience

+ Ability to speak, read, and write in English

+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred

+ Basic mechanical understanding for inspections
