    The Clinical Research Participant Specialist will report to the Project Manager and play a key role in supporting Principal Investigator–initiated studies and sponsored clinical trials. This role is primarily participant-facing and focuses on community engagement, recruitment, and the coordination of participant-related study activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and committed to upholding the University’s core values while supporting the successful conduct of research.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Community Engagement and Recruitment

    o Assist with planning, organizing, and participating in community outreach activities to support research recruitment goals.

    o Support the development and maintenance of relationships with community partners and stakeholders to promote awareness of research opportunities.

    o Serve as a point of contact for potential participants, providing study information and responding to inquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.

    2. Participant-Focused Study Support

    o Support participant-related study activities for interventional and observational studies, including recruitment, pre-screening, scheduling visits, and follow-up communications.

    o Assist with informed consent processes under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or delegated study staff.

    o Conduct study assessments and questionnaires as delegated and within scope of training.

    o Coordinate participant reimbursements and ensure timely documentation of participant interactions.

    3. Study Operations and Team Support

    o Assist with the maintenance of study-related documentation, including participant logs, correspondence, and data collection materials.

    o Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and study team to ensure smooth day-to-day study operations.

    o Support interactions with sponsors or Clinical Research Organizations as needed, particularly around participant scheduling and visit logistics.

    • 4. Flexibility and Collaboration

    o Work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team to meet study timelines.

    o Maintain flexibility in work hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to accommodate participant availability and study needs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree

    Experience:

    No experience required

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

    • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

    • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

    • Commitment to the University’s core values.

    • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
