Conduct information assurance activities on information systems such as application of security patches. Provide technical expertise on system operations, hardware, and a wide variety of applications and programs. Perform system administration duties on a large network of computers with wide area network access. Install application software for maintenance of system configuration files. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Identifying information technology security risks and vulnerabilities to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and/or data. AND 2. Applying standards, policies, and security procedures to information systems including risk assessment testing; application of security patches; and/or preparing reports of documented findings. AND 3. Performing system administration duties on a large network of computers with wide area network access such as installing application software for maintenance of system configuration files and applying integration of long-term information systems projects. AND 4. Utilizing, installing, and implementing computer application software for maintenance of system configuration files to include implementing computer diagnostic techniques and/or performance measurement tools, network monitoring software, and network addressing and configuration software. In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: 1. In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap). This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug­ Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85. Signing of a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program) acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
